Different Types of Shooting

A benefit of having so many different types of shooting is that any cadet who wants to shoot can. Many squadrons have an indoor air rifle range, and most squadrons have a local .22 range. This means that even if a cadet is busy at the weekend they can most likely shoot with their squadron on a squadron evening. At the weekends about once a month there is L98 and L81 longer range shooting at outdoor ranges, and these shoots are always well attended.

Shooting Awards

The different shooting awards represent the shooters skill, starting at squadron marksman and finishing at Corps marksman. You may have noticed the cadet 100 award, these are only awarded to the cadets within the top 100 shooters at the tri-service shooting competition at Bisley each year, and are very hard to get.
